While travelling the Oodnadatta-Track from Marree to Marla, you will reach William Creek about 200 km on the half way.
William Creek is the smallest town in South Australia and is located on one of the world's largest cattle stations, Anna Creek.
William Creek is famous for its "William Creek Hotel". You have to stop there to have a cold drink or a meal and to look at the unique interior. You can stay at the Hotel over night or camp on the campground just behind the hotel. Across the road from the William Creek Hotel, the William Creek Progress Association has set up a small 'open air' museum, where rockets fired from Woomera and landed near William Creek are shown. You also can have a walk along the old Ghan-Railway.
Opposite the William Creek Hotel in the William Creek Store & Campground. When I was in William Creek in the End of March 2003, the Store was closed.
