The Oodnadatta Track

The Oodnadatta-Track is a popular alternative to the Stuart Highway. Between Marree and Oodnadatta the track goes along the old Ghan Railway and so there're many ruins of old Railway Sidings and Bores to see. William Creek and the famous William Creek Hotel and Oodnadatta with the Pink Roadhouse are worth to see.

Points of interest:

Below, you will find pictures of some attractions on the Oodnadatta-Track to give you an idea, what to see. There's much more to see indeed.  I recommend the West-Print Heritage Map of the Oodnadatta-Track, where all the attractions are described.

Coward Springs

Today this railway siding is a popular camping spot. Have a look at the old cottages or have a bath in the natural spa, like I did.

  Mound Springs

Formed from an accumulation of dissolved salt deposits, these mounds (Blanche Cup and the Bubbler) are some of the most remarkable attractions along the Oodnadatta Track. Today the Area of Mound Springs is a Conservations Park, which can be reached on a short track.

Curdimurka

Curdimurka is another railway siding on the Oodnadatta Track. Its famous for the Curdimurka Outback Ball, which takes place here every second year.
